I took a different turn in designing today’s card. Instead of cutting the aspen tree oval out of solid cardstock, I chose a sheet from the Sale-A-Bration DSP called Rings of Love. I thought the pattern lended itself to looking more like a grove of trees and I liked the natural look to the layer. Isn’t this Hand-Penned suite of products so pretty! We are revisiting the Hand-Penned group of products and today we are using the Memories & More Cards & Envelopes as well as Card Pack. This suite of products has been my favourite and I would even go as far as to say that it has been a favourite as compared to any of the products I’ve loved from Stampin’ Up! though the years. The delicate, hand-drawn images remind me of flowers I remember from my grandmother’s garden in Sutton, England. It also contains the images and colours that my friend Heather was known for (if you’ve stamped with me for fairly long period, you will have known Heather before she sadly passed away).

Have you ever crafted a Bridge Fold card? There were several things on my mind that ended up making this card come together. I have been wanting to use colours of the Ukranian flag in a card project (the war in Ukraine is heart-wrenching), the next series of products for 3-2-1 Stamp are the Waves of the Ocean stamps, dies & accessories plus I always love sharing another fun card fold! So here is the design for this week – it is a CASE’d project which stands for Copy And Selectively Edit – I adjusted just a few parts of the card from the project I saw by fellow demonstrator, Leena Girsa of ALaCards.blogspot.com.
There were problems with the audio at about the 8:00 minute mark. If you need any clarification of the “how to”, please let me know. I will redo the video Friday or Saturday and repost that asap.

I watched a Canadian Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator (Lisa Althouse) demonstrate this card sketch using the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper and a series of different green tones from Stampin’ Up! products. Immediately I though about the beautiful DSPs we have in the current 2 catalogues and though about using the measurements for her card design and changing things up a bit. On the video today, I used the heartwarming Hugs DSP but showed another version using Tidings of Christmas DSP from the 2021-22 Annual Catalogue. I hope you enjoy the video and use the measurements for your next card project.
